Mark’s Big Project

For Zoe, Ace, & Liam’s Christmas, Mark and I wanted to build an adequate playfort for them. So, this weekend was the time to do it. Mark’s parents came up to help and to work they went. It turned out great. The kids were a little leary of it yesterday but they were also trying to play being sleep deprived from getting up and going to church, so I don’t have a lot of pics of them playing on it. We’re going to mark off a whole area for their “play area” and keep all of their toys there. We’ll put mulch down eventually.

Ace spent as much time outside as possible “helping” Daddy and Papa. He actually played in the dirt beside them the whole time. I think he’s leveling off the ground one handful of dirt at a time.

And here is the fort all finished. Their sandbox fits perfectly under the fort and I was able to pile their toys and Liam’s slide up next to the fort. As you can see, the swings are a little too high right now. We will be purchasing some chain to extend them down to “kid” height. There is one swing on each side of the fort. This is a great size fort for our small backyard! I’m excited that the kids will be able to play here for a long time.

  1. We actually have a sandbox turtle that fits perfectly under it, so that’s what we put under it along with some riding toys the kids have. We’ve just got to fill the sandbox with sand again! It got wet and buggy.
