Tea, Tutus & The New Nutcracker

Saturday, was a very busy day for us. I’ll update pics from Mark’s adventures in the next post. Zoe went with Grandmere (Mark’s mother) to Tea & Tutus. This was a special event put on by The Columbia County Ballet (where Zoe takes ballet). Basically, it was a very very girly party. She was able to meet “Clara” and “The Sugar Plum Fairy” and hear stories and do crafts and get lots of fun treats. So, here are some pictures from the day.

This is Zoe’s teacher and Co-Director of the Columbia County Ballet (her husband is the other director), Kathleen Jones. Zoe loves Miss Kathleen and her dance class.

This is Miss Kathleen’s assistant teacher. She was also Clara last year.
And then in the evening, Zoe, Ace, Mark and I all got dressed up and headed to the Performing Arts Center to see The New Nutcracker put on by The Columbia County Ballet (resident ballet company of the Performing Arts Center). It was absolutely wonderful. Ace’s comment at the end, “I want more ballet!” There are some very talented performers in the ballet company. Almost all of them are high school age or younger. It was a great time for us with the kids. One awesome thing about CCB. They always work gospel truths into the ballets. At the party scene, the partygoers act out the Christmas story! I love that!! Okay, the picture above is of Zoe and Ace with Addison. Addison belongs to some friends of ours. He started taking ballet last year and was in The Roar of Love which we saw. So far, we’ve been able to see him in everything. It’s amazing that he and several of the younger children can remember all their parts so well! He was one of the toy soldiers and rode a “horse” in. He also got to shoot a cannon during the fight scene with the mice! He did awesome! Zoe had to wear her tiara and carry her wand that she had made at Tea & Tutus earlier in the day. Mr. Jones (the director of CCB), stopped and talked to her about going to Tea & Tutus. Of course, she acted shy as ever!
