Park Day

We met up with some friends a few weeks ago to play at the park. Ceili Rain (aka Sleeping Beauty) was asleep almost the whole time. The kids had fun. Mark was still off work, so I got to sit, relax and visit with my friends while the kids played and Mark took pictures.

I love this picture of our friend K-bug. Not sure if that’s a look of terror or excitement.

Sliding fun.

Not quite sure what she’s doing with her headband here.

Two Week Check Up

Ceili Rain had her two week check up today. She’s doing great. Yesterday, for some reason, was a spit up day. Today, however, is not. Just looking out for signs of reflux but I really don’t see any right now.

I have been calling her Sleeping Beauty (as you’ll see in some of the posts this week) because she’s been sleeping so much. Now it appears that Sleeping Beauty has disappeared and my normal baby who doesn’t sleep very well unless in the sling has appeared. This is a very typical baby for me. And right now, I don’t mind it. She’s cuddled in the sling as I type this. And she looks so peaceful and content. All too soon she’ll be climbing out of my lap to go do something else.

Here’s her stats:

Weight: 9 lbs 5 oz (90%)
Height: 21 1/2 inches (90%)
Head: 14 1/2 inches (75%)

She loves her mama’s milk!

Books Alive!

A couple of weeks ago, we took the kids to a celebration at our library called, Books Alive! They had a lot of transportation type activities in honor of a children’s author who was there. He wrote transportation type books. I’m not familiar with him and we never actually saw him but we did have a lot of fun. Oh, and Ceili Rain was sleeping (as usual) so she didn’t make the pics.

On the “choo choo” Behind me is a friend’s husband and their child…sitting with Zoe. Josiah’s our resident train fanatic and so, after he realized where he was, he was very excited.

And Now For Liam…

Time for another thrilling episode of, “Your Kid Did WHAT???”

Ahhh, yes.

Mark had a rare work day this past Sunday and so I was left alone with the kids and decided to get us ready and go to church.

All things were going smoothly. They were finishing up a tv show while I started on breakfast when I heard discussion about touching “mom’s things.”

So I ordered everyone out of my room and off to get dressed. Then I heard Zoe going into hysterics. I calmly walked back to our bedroom and find Liam in the baby bed, with the infant gas drops, opened. He was lotioning his body with the drops and had successfully emptied pretty much the entire bottle.

Yep, my kid did that and despite his best efforts, we still made it to church on time 🙂

Alive and Kicking!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything since Saturday. Any guesses why???

Mark is now back at work and I’m on my own. However, Ceili Rain decided to go on a long night nursing spree with grunts and snorts Tuesday night, so Mark actually stayed home on Wednesday. That was really nice!

We’re doing really good and have even had school this week.

Ceili Rain continues to be a really good baby. She sleeps, eats, and, well, you know…she’s also getting a little more alert around eating time which is fun for the others.

Josiah continues to dote on her and wants to kiss her billions of times. Liam and Ace are the same way. Zoe just enjoys watching her.

I’ll post some pictures sometime in the next couple of days of the kids and what they’ve been up to this week! Stay tuned!

Just some pictures of Ceili Rain

Ceili Rain’s first week pictures are almost done…we’re getting there…but I know the grandparents love to have them to show off. These are just some random pictures from the first few days.

Any questions what the kids think about her? As I’m typing this, Josiah is in my lap saying, “Ma me.” And trying to touch the screen.

One proud daddy. He absolutely dotes on her. God has truly blessed us with another girl to be raised up as a godly woman by Mark.

The Fam…boy, we’re a big crew!

How ‘Bout That?!

Apparently, early on Friday morning there was a loud boom noise in our area. “Experts” have indicated that it was a meteor either entering the atmosphere with a sonic boom or breaking up as it entered the atmosphere.

And guess what?! I got to hear it. Yep, I was up at around 3 nursing Ceili Rain. I heard it and wondered why there was thunder and flipped over to the weather channel.

Now, some people are saying their house shook…however, all I heard was what sounded like thunder, or something hitting our a/c unit outside our window. No shaking or rattling or animals going crazy.

I think that’s kinda cool that I actually heard it though.

Ceili Rain’s Visitors

Ceili Rain had a few visitors during our quick stay at the hospital. Here are some!

Kevin and Tracy are our friends who were married last June and had Zoe as their flower girl. They are expecting their first little one, Ceili Rain’s playmate, in August! And it’s a boy!! Kevin hasn’t had a lot of practice with baby babies and so here’s his chance! He’ll be a great dad and Tracy will be a wonderful mom. They both love children and put up with our crazy crew a lot!
My best friend, A, and her family came for a visit. Her two daughters are 5 and 3, Ace and Liam’s age.

A’s husband visiting with Ceili Rain.

S., my friend’s daughter loved her.
My K-bug, just couldn’t keep her hands off her. She had to see every little part of her. They were all so sweet!

Grandparents Meet Ceili Rain

My (Abbie’s) parents, Ge & Granddaddy came up Wednesday night to stay with the other kids and babysit them while I was at the hospital on Thursday. Now, I am one of two. And my mo and dad are both high school teachers. So, shepherding and watching four children six and under…reminded them why they are high school teachers and not elementary ed teachers. Needless to say, once the kids were in bed Thursday night, my parents were out cold until the little munchkins woke them up the next morning.

However, I think we rewarded them sufficiently with a pretty new grandkid.

A Dad funny:

We heard a couple of granddads talking in the hall Saturday morning.

One of them said, “This is number 4.”
Of course, granddads have to one up and the other said, “Ahh, this one is number 6 for us.”
Dad grinned and said to those of us in the room, “I’ve got you beat!” He’s so proud he won!

By the way, this is #7 on my side and #11 on Mark’s side.
