Ceili Rain’s Newborn Check up

Ceili Rain met Dr. B, her pediatrician today. No big news. She has jaundice, which is typical for a breastfed baby. We’re keeping an eye on it and if it gets too bad we’ll go to the hospital to check her bilirubin levels and if those are off, we’ll get to bring a heating lamp home. All my children have had jaundice but it usually corrects itself by the end of the first week.

Her stats:
8 lb. 5 oz (only down one ounce from birth) 85%
20 1/2 inches-85%
13 7/8 inches head-50%

I’ll work on pictures to get up this week of the kids etc. Stay tuned. I’ve got some other posts ready while we’re working on getting our new routine going and recovering.

Artist At Work

Warm weather beckoned us outside last week! It was absolutely beautiful without all the humidity. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We took advantage of the warm weather to take the art easel outside and do a little creating.

The boys’ all shared one side of the easel.
Josiah in a messless outfit…wash and wear!

He took this painting thing very seriously.

Ta Da! They titled it, “Spiderman’s Clubhouse.”

The artist getting her inspiration.
Concentrating on each brushstroke.
Working AND posing for pictures….yes, folks, she’s that good!

And Zoe’s creation. I forgot to ask her the title.

We’re Home!

After a long wait this morning for the doctor’s to make their rounds, we’re home! I’ll work on posting all the “girly” details of the labor and delivery. It was long but a lot easier than Josiah. And, no, I didn’t have an epidural and I eventually won’t regret it…just kidding, I don’t really now.

We could not access the internet in our room so that’s why I have posted until now.

Stay tuned…pictures and more to come. Now to try and get us all on a new routine!

A quiet moment of reflection

Well, I’m enjoying a quiet moment here at home with all the kids asleep/occupied, and just remembering to thank my God and my Savior for His amazing blessings over me.

What an amazing week this has been: my own spiritual growth, my grandmother going to sing in the heavenly choir, worry over my other grandmother as she returned to the hospital because of fluid on her lungs, the birth of my newest beautiful daughter (!!), the sadness and celebration all at once for friends at church, normal work drama, the regular trials, tribulations, & tremendous fun times at home, [I guess I should stop there].

I praise the supernatural, universe-creating, consistent, omniscient, omnipotent, all-providing God for giving me the peace and grace to handle these times. Without Him I am nothing.

Thanks to everyone who has lifted my family this week in prayer.

Ceili Rain pics

We finally got a good post-birth picture with Dr. J. [And he’s not leaning his head sideways, so you can tell it’s an impromptu picture.]

Ceili Rain has arrived!

OK, everyone, the news you’ve been waiting for all day….

Ceili Rain has arrived!
She is 8 lb., 5.6 oz., 20 1/2 inches long, lots of dark hair, and blue eyes.
And, of course, beautiful, like her mommy.

Speaking of her mommy, the nurses were all standing around as she labored giving her compliments and wishing that every patient was like her. I should have bought her a shirt with a big ‘S’ on the front. She was absolutely amazing.
