Home, eh!

We’re home from Canada, eh! Still working on getting my accent back. Loved it! Love being home but totally wiped out. So, I’ll try and post about our trip sometime this week. I’ve got to finish Halloween costumes, go to the doc to get the u/s (Thursday…date change), sew baby gifts, oh, and pick up our new (to us) van! The van pick up should be tomorrow…I know everyone is wondering but I need to work on getting my menu for next month done and then supper and also getting some more material to do baby gifts, so more to come…Stay tuned…

Oh Canada Day 1

We’re officially in Canada! We’ve been here for a little over 24 hours. It’s beautiful. We’re now at a resort where we should, hopefully, be helping out the couple giving the marriage conference. Still not sure what we’re going to do. Last night was mostly just visiting with the wonderful family that allowed us to crash at their house. This morning we met with the pastor of the church plant that we’ve helped and I had an AWESOME crepe omelette! Then back to our lovely host and hostess’s home to visit while the guys went to play golf. It was nice to talk and see where they were coming from spiritually and to relate to them!

Mark’s still at golf…kids, when he gets back, I’ll get him to upload the video that we have and we’ll work on a video blog from this beautiful area. I’m going to relax some more, take pictures, and wait on “my man” to return! More later!

Pumpkin’ Paintin’

As soon as we got home last week from the field trip, Zoe asked if she could paint her pumpkin. Last year, we carved them, but for some reason this year, she wanted to paint them (much to Mark’s gratefulness..it’s hard carving little pumpkins). So, we painted pumpkins on Saturday…

Liam’s pumpkin was a beautiful shade of…purple and black when he finished with it.

Ace decided his pumpkin would get dressed up…as an apple (it was red alllll over).

Zoe eating her pumpkin candy while contemplating how her pumpkin would look.

We started Josiah out with finger paints thinking that would be easier for him. However, he saw that everyone else had a paint brush and he wanted one too…

Ta Da!

I think it’s a punk rock pumpkin!

Off We Go…

Well, the kids are dropped off and safely with Grandmere and Papa. We’re packed up and the house is settled…we’ll be off in a few hours to Canada! I can’t believe it’s already here. We met with the couple that we’re going with and still aren’t sure what our jobs are going to be. Mainly, we think, we’re building relationships and serving as “dare I say” an example of a Christian marriage and family…aggghhhh! I hardly think of us as an example for anyone to follow, but hopefully Christ can show through our many, many imperfections. Speaking of which, I will be working on some posts on “how I do it.” A lot of people ask me that question or make statements like, “I just don’t know how you do it.” So, I thought I’d share the Secrets of a Super Mom (yeah, right). So stay tuned. I’ll also try to do random blogging while wandering through a “foreign” land. Okay, so Canada isn’t really foreign, especially since we’ll be going to an English speaking part of Canada.

Oh, and I’ve got more picture posts coming up through Friday in case we get swamped and I can’t make it to my computer (now that’s suffering for Jesus!). Please pray that I know when to keep my mouth shut and that only He is lifted up when I open it!

Fall Festival

Our church had our annual fall festival this year. We were able to bring a friend of Zoe’s along and I believe, she had a great time. I know my kids did and they were totally wiped out by the time we got home. Ace got to shoot a bow and arrow (which he has been asking Santa for and has increased in asking since). Zoe also shot one and really did outshoot Ace. I told Mark that she looked just like Susan Pevensie from Narnia! She really enjo0yed it. Anyway, enjoy the pictures with a little music to lighten the mood!

Saturday is Ball Day

OK, just to update my previous entry, I think just about every ball in our house has been out today, not just the footballs.  And Josiah is practicing his tackling technique already – going low into both Ace & Liam and taking them down.

Roll Tide, barely – again…
