One More Day

for the bloggy giveaway! Click here to get the details to enter.

For some of the sweet people who are posting about larger families. I think I could fit everyone in…I will just have to be creative! They won’t be in a row from father to youngest, though…unless you want the youngest to only be seen by a microscope!

Thanks to everyone for leaving such nice comments about my designs! I can’t wait to see who the kids choose!

We’ll post the winner on Sunday!

What's a Joke, continued…

Zoe and Ace have continued to tell jokes and had Mark and I in tears coming home from church on Sunday. The following are some of the “jokes.”

Zoe: Have you ever seen really big people on a little tiny table? Get it?
Ace: Have you ever seen a shoe with a sock? Get it?
Zoe: Have you ever seen a milk on a cow? Get it?
Ace: Have you ever seen a chicken and cow on your head? Get it?

At some point they both said this…I don’t get it!

Big Car and Truck Show

So, Saturday, our MOPS group held a fundraiser called, the MOPS Big Car and Truck Show. It really wasn’t much of a fundraiser. We think the rain and the massive activities going on in our area kind of put a damper on things. But the kids that came thought it was great! All of the MOPS moms thought we should rename it the MOPS Horn Honking Show! Quite a lot of that going on. Still fun, nonetheless!

Ace said this was a girly bike…but he sure did enjoy “riding” on it!

Oh, yes, the firetruck was a big hit! Late in the afternoon, they turned on the water hose and let some of the kids point it. That was pretty neat for them.

Bloggy Giveaway: Like I don’t have enough to do…

Okay, I thought I would just participate in this bloggy giveaway and see how many people really read my blog. I’m giving away 16 Personal note cards. I’ve posted my most popular design which are the stick figures. I’ll personalize these to fit your family…my personal family ones include a ballerina, a knight, and a little boy with a football! So, the possibilities are endless! However, if you don’t like these and would like something a bit different, I can work on that too!

What you have to do to receive 16 personalized note cards:
1. Leave me a comment in this post letting me know if you want the stick figure cards or what kind of cards you would like (samples can be found here).
2. Make sure to include your name and some way for me to get in touch with you should you be the winner.
3. We (meaning my kids by some undetermined method) will choose a winner on Saturday, April 26th!

Hey Kids! Want a baby chick for a pet???

Today, I was boiling eggs for tomorrow at MOPS. When the water started heating up, one of the eggs started chirping! Ugghhh! I don’t use fresh eggs, just cage free eggs from the store. But, I remembered my mom telling me that she had cracked open a fresh egg and found a fertilized one…although the chick wasn’t alive!

I isolated the egg and called Mark who suggested I call his brother. I called his brother and he laughed at me! He also said it was possible if there was a rooster around during the egg laying stuff. Hmm. He suggested I hold it up to a light and see if I could see anything in it. I remember my grandmother doing this, but I didn’t know if it would work with brown eggs. So, I emailed my mom who said it would work, but that the eggs can make a chirping noise if there is a small hole in the egg.

I decided to just leave the egg wrapped up on a heating pad…just in case…meanwhile, I wondered what our house would be like with another baby running around…a baby chick that is. I finally got the courage to crack it and it was just a regular egg! That was a close one. It’d be interesting if there was a chick inside.

Meanwhile, Josiah seems to be doing better. I took him for what I like to call a “peace of mind” visit. He’s got a red throat which is probably the cause of his fever. He’s also gained a pound! Dr. B was very happy and we canceled our appointment for May 15th. She, too, was worried that he had lost weight. Mark and I have been on edge the past few weeks wondering if there was something else wrong with him. We are very grateful that he’s gained weight. I hope to see him gain about two to three more pounds by his 1 year check up.

Updating on Life

Ace was fine after he threw up. Go figure!

Mark and I celebrated 12 years of dating on Saturday night (it was actually the 20th but we had church)! We celebrated with a dinner in (thanks to Ace being sick) from PF Chang’s and swiss cake roll from EarthFare. And a movie.

Zoe’s reading like crazy! She’s an amazing kid.

Liam’s potty training is pretty non existent…still going in his training pants but also on the potty…weird.

Josiah started running a low grade temp yesterday. We’re watching it and waiting. If he’s still running a fever, he’ll go in on Thursday or Friday. It was really weird yesterday because I noticed his hands and arms were really warm, but his forehead was cool. I kept checking him until we got home that afternoon (a trip to the park at the library and the gym) and his forehead was cool the whole time. So, when we got home, I checked his temp and it was at 101.3. Ughhh! Odd fevers…today his forehead has actually felt warm.

I’ve got pictures in folders to be uploaded but haven’t had a chance to resize them…they’re coming though.

Well, Let’s See.

Today started out fairly good. I slept in with Ace on one side and Liam on the other. Today is the first day my ears have not really hurt.

However, Ace just wouldn’t get up. He kept complaining that his tummy hurt. He didn’t eat supper last night…because it was healthy and I reminded him of that. He kept complaining and sat at the breakfast table with his head down. He ate a couple bites of breakfast and drank all his juice.

Then, when I handed him his milk that he asked for…he threw up into it and all over him and all over the kitchen floor. This is where I thank God that we have hardwood floors and that it is fairly simple to clean up throw up on the floor.

I sent him to clean up and then ran to take a shower because what I planned to do before the throwing up was to go to the gym and then Wal-Mart to get stuff I needed for the rest of the week, then come home, take a shower, and have school, lunch and do a 15 minute de-clutter. See, I planned the day, but God had other plans. After my shower, I tried calling my neighbor but couldn’t get her. After a couple of tries, she called me and agreed to run and get some “blue juice” aka Powerade for Ace. Which he promptly threw up. He was so pitiful saying he was really hungry. I made him eat saltines after that because he kept asking for food. After he kept those down for 30 minutes, I let him have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (which he asked for) and milk. And tonight he ate a few bites of a pizza. His attitude is back, so I think he’s feeling better. If this is the same stomach bug that everyone else has had around here, he’ll probably throw up sometime tomorrow or he’ll be fine.

Miss Zoe is turning into quite the mama and I found her saying the things I say when they have the stomach bug…like, “Here’s the bucket, please don’t miss the bucket…get the throw up in there.”

By the way, Ace did miss the bucket. I think since he’s a poor shot in the bucket, we may have to do what the Gosslin family does and stick him on the floor in the laundry room…except her laundry room is MUCH cleaner than ours…maybe I’ll put him on our bathroom floor.

And Zoe thought it was so cool that Ace got to chill on the couch today that she’s hoping she’s the next one sick. I told her if she throws up I’m going to ask her how much fun she’s really having. She just grinned…childhood innocence…she has no idea! In her defense, she hasn’t gotten a stomach bug since she was about 2 1/2 or so. She doesn’t remember the nasty sick feeling, like you’ve been run over with a truck and any smell of food sends your stomach quivering.

I’m Watching…

My new stat counter (from statcounter.com) allows me to see where people are coming from. So, Bonjour to my one visitor, who stayed 0 seconds, from France!

It also lets me see what people have googled/searched and found me…

So, this tells me several things…
1. Some of you can’t remember my address, so you just google our names to find me 🙂 You’re smart!
2. Putting Masters and plaid pants on my blog has gotten me about three more hits (although they didn’t stay long…I thought the guy in the purple plaid pants was a good one though…maybe if I say Masters again, I’ll get more hits)
3. Lots of people are getting excited about Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed!

I’m waiting for the day I come up on searches like this woman’s blog does. I’m sure I have awhile to go though!

Masters 🙂

Oh, and I’m feeling a little better. Still can’t hear and still hurt some. I’m anticipating waking up tomorrow and feeling so great we can go to the gym!! Yea, right 🙂 I miss the eliptical machine (and no I’m not being sarcastic…30 minutes of just me burning calories…that I have to put back on so Josiah has milk…and my ipod…ahhh)

plaid pants 🙂
