Tobin is Six Months

Tobin is our record breaker around here. Traditionally, we have long, lean babies. Our Sweet T has decided to stir things up. He’s not really the shortest (but close to it) but he is definitely our chunkiest.

We absolutely love having a chunky monkey. He’s so incredibly squishy and kissable! It’s such a treat.

At six months, he is giggling and smiling. He has no problem going to anyone but Mama gets the dives when I reach out my hands or walk by. He is constantly moving and I think that is one of the reasons he can’t sit up for more than thirty seconds. He has figured out that he can roll to get wherever he wants to go. He is teething almost constantly. His fifth tooth (yes FIVE) broke through the gums this past weekend and the sixth is soon to follow. He loves eating avocado, grabbing whatever we have near him, and dogs and cats. No crawling yet but he is pushing up pretty high on his hands and the knees are getting close.

Mark and I joked that he is definitely not an easy baby but he does make us laugh and smile a lot. God knew we needed lots of laughs and smiles!

Stats: 20 lbs 8 oz., 27 1/4 inches long

He’s in 12 months clothes and those are starting to get tight ya’ll.

Silas turned eleven this year! It’s been a long year full of lots of ups and lots of downs. I’m so grateful we have been there for him these past two birthdays and we look forward to celebrating many more with him!

He asked for a chess cake this year! Those are chocolate molds. Fun to make but they were definitely challenging!

Our One and Only

The only snow day we had this winter was in January. Technically, we would just call it flurries. But the white stuff was floating through the air and the kids just HAD to go out and play in it. It’s sticking. To the van. And the leaves. For a few seconds.

It continued to snow all day but never got cold enough to stick. I admit it was beautiful watching it come down in sheets…but it was even more glorious that it didn’t stick! We live in the South for a reason ya’ll!

December Randoms

One of our few kids who actually enjoys tummy time. Lulu needed some serious mama cuddles. Dancing with mama. Slugs and Bugs concert was a hit! It took a lot of setbacks but Emmie FINALLY potty trained. A combination of her brace getting too small and going sans pants for two weeks was just what she needed. Undies rule for this super hero.
I got to meet my friend Tracy’s sweet new baby K. Tobins smiles abound. This baby “geek” has a muffin top! Ace lost his head. Doggy train. Tobin and his buddy L who is a month older. They are starting to actually notice each other. Tobin in a meeting with his brothers and daddy.

Zoe felt that the statue of David needed a little fashion help. She colored some skinny jeans for him.

Christmas with G & G

At the end of December we celebrated Christmas with Granddaddy and Ge and Aunt Yaya’s family. Zoe celebrated her birthday. Cousin Jacie met Tobin. All the cousins!

After over two months of waiting, McDonald’s finally got the buttermilk chicken tenders back in stock! It was a happy ride home for all of us.

Happy Birthday, Liam 2017!

We celebrated Liam’s 12th birthday at the end of December. He requested a Star Wars Clone Wars cake with white chocolate velvet cake.

Liam’s want, need, do, and read included: Blade builders light saber set, tool box, Dominion game, and two books in Ted Dekker’s Circle series.

A Bunch On Ice

Emmie performed at a local festivity with her Steps of Grace ballet group. As a reward, they gave the performers a ticket to come back. I had declined the tickets because the event is very expensive (and included ice skating among other activities). They surprised us by gifting us tickets for everyone! So, the day after Christmas, we headed out. We had some reluctant skaters but we told them that EVERYONE would at least try one time around.
Emmie was a trooper but one time was enough. After a couple of rounds with the guard, several of our kids took off.

It was fun but we realized pretty quickly that we are very grateful we didn’t invest the money in tickets. Only a few actually skated for more than ten minutes. This is good to know for future ice skating trips.

Merry Christmas!

In April no less!

Emmie begged for Lazy Lights aka Laser Lights. I convinced Mark that they were a small investment for a big thrill. He reluctantly consented. Then he asked for a family movie night to watch Polar Express. We had hot chocolate, sweet treats and broke out our Christmas pjs! Christmas day and our annual picture by the tree. Tobin was obviously impressed by the festivities. Mark decided a few years ago to start a Fonatini collection. I look forward to what he adds to it every year. Sleeping baby cuddles…yes! Even if I was getting choked!

Right after Christmas, our “god” daughter and her family sent us a yummy treat box! Everyone was excited at all the fun stuff!

P & G Christmas

We enjoyed a Papa and Grandmere visit right before Christmas. Chess is always a must when they visit. We celebrated Zoe’s birthday… And Liam’s Grandmere helped with our annual pretzel dipping. Papa & Grandmere gifted us with a Fuf! Ya’ll this thing is huge but awesome. It’s stuffed with memory foam so it never has to be refilled. Tobin got some sweet cuddles too.
