Just got a call from Papa that Aunt B’s water has broke! They’re on the way to the hospital. Will update after soccer camp if they are here. Please pray that everyone is healthy and safe!
Countdown to “T” Day…2 Days
Happy Father’s Day!
I have to say that my kids have the best dad hands down! I had a wonderful dad and I’m sure Mark had a great one…but as of right now, my kids are blessed to have Mark as their father. He willingly and lovingly takes care of them and gives me breaks when I need them. I love ya babe! Thanks so much for all you do for our children.
Countdown to “T” Day…3 Days
That’s countdown to “Twins” day…when Mark’s sister-in-law has her two babies! We’re so excited even though we are about seven hours apart! We’ve been praying for these babies for a long time and continue to do so. SIL will be induced on Tuesday due to little “lefty” being a sprite little runt for his age weighing in at about 4 lbs 11 oz at his last ultrasound showing…about a week ago.
So, while we were away for our anniversary trip, Mark’s parents asked the kids what Aunt B was going to have, boys, girls, or one of each. Here’s the tally…Mark and I added to it after we got back because Zoe insisted we had to. I’ll have to also add that Ace asked me the other day if I was going to have one baby or two. This adoption thing is really messing with his head, especially since Aunt B has babies growing in her belly and he’s so used to me having them in mine!
I digress..Here’s the guesses as written down by Papa (who happens to call the babies “Pete” and “Repete”…hehehe).
Zoe: one boy and one girl
Ace: two boys (that would make the grand kids at a whopping seven boys and a lowly three girls making for some fun family get togethers, huh?)
Papa: two boys (Papa likes his boys!)
Grandmere: one boy and one girl
Liam: two boys
Mommy: two girls (just because no one said it and I would love some more girls in our own home)
Daddy: one of each (it’s kind of like grocery shopping…hmm, I’ll take one girl and one boy…just to even things up around here…is there a special??)
Okay, so anyone that reads…and to give B&B a kick, leave a comment and take a guess as to what they are having!
Since I mentioned the adoption, I’ll update here and say that we have mailed off our first mailing for our homestudy which included our application and a little bit of the lot of money we have to send in! Keep praying! And no, I’m not pregnant…again…just got to make that clear!
My New Look…How to get it!
If you subscribe to my blog through Google…then click on it and check out my new header/makeover.
I’m not that great with figuring out html, so I have to “jerry rig” my blog. Here’s how I did it:
1. Select the most basic templates-Minima (this is all in blogger)
2. In a publishing program or other program create the header you want. I went to computerscrapbook.com, picked out a digital kit I liked and then order it…maybe four dollars total. Then I used all the paper, elements, and other things with the kids pics to put it together.
3. I then copy and pasted it into a photo editor program to resize it. I had to resize it to 700 pixels (on one side the other side was kept in proportion to the resized size) to get it to fit correctly.
4. Back to blogger: go to the layout. Click on page elements. You can then click on edit in the title. Choose to put a picture in and use the picture in place of the blog title (if you put your title in your header design…which I highly suggest to make it look right).
5. You can then go to “fonts and colors” in your template and change all the fonts to fit your new header.
Voila! Or you can call me and I’ll be glad to do it here with you…our kids can have a playdate while we immerse ourselves in blogworld!!
VBS is done and I am so relieved! I believe we’ll be taking a break from the whole family being involved in the ordeal (or at least just let Zoe go) next year!
Quicksand Goo or Oobleck!
Yesterday, we decided to make quicksand. Thanks to seeing a video clip of Steve Spangler making it…and the Mythbusters, my house was covered in corn starch. You can go here to get the complete directions. All you need is corn starch and water and there you go. It’s so much fun!!! What was really neat was that you could punch it and it wouldn’t splatter or go anywhere! That is because the corn starch molecules trap the water molecules upon impact and then release about a second or two later. Or something along those science lines. I think Ace loved it the most. He kept saying, “Ewie, gooey!”
Going Green & Liam’s Fits
We have been “going green” with our shopping bags and now…I have no trash bags or bags to throw dirty diapers away in…or molded food…ughh! I need to go shopping and forget my bags I guess.
The other night, Liam was in his normal night time “I don’t wanna sleep” throes. Mark told him to get on the bed.
“I caaaaan’t!” he moaned.
“Why can’t you, Liam?” Mark asked.
“Because,” sniff sniff and more tears, “I’m in twouble.”
He’s just so cute.

Adoption Prayers
Please pray for our country that we will be adopting from. Right now they are in legislation and have some policies concerning adoption that will be up for approval, etc. A new proposal from the agency we want to use and others will be coming up this week. What we know about the proposal is that it is “pro-adoption and designed to facilitate the international adoption process.” Please pray that this proposal will be passed!
On another note, I’ll be mailing off our homestudy application this week. We really have no reason that we have been waiting, other than just time, etc. We’ve still got two visits from the homestudy agency plus one visit to them, plus about fifty more pages of paperwork that will need to be turned in. Of course, I’ve got most of the paperwork done but we’ll have our lovely background checks from everyone and his brother to do and that will take some time.
