Fall Festival

Our church had our annual fall festival this year. We were able to bring a friend of Zoe’s along and I believe, she had a great time. I know my kids did and they were totally wiped out by the time we got home. Ace got to shoot a bow and arrow (which he has been asking Santa for and has increased in asking since). Zoe also shot one and really did outshoot Ace. I told Mark that she looked just like Susan Pevensie from Narnia! She really enjo0yed it. Anyway, enjoy the pictures with a little music to lighten the mood!

Weekend Trip

Now to our regularly scheduled picture updates…here we are visiting Ge & Granddaddy and going to Granddaddy’s football game. They won and they won last night too. Their record stands at 7-0. The most a team has scored on them in one game is 10 points. Not bad, eh??

My boys love them some football. Actually, Zoe does too. She can follow it better on tv and enjoys a good game but Bama is her favorite. She’ll start asking us as soon as she gets up this morning when Bama is going to play and won’t stop until they come on (by the way it’s an afternoon game). Anyway, I couldn’t get a picture of Zoe because she would walk the aisle following the team. Here are all the boys enjoying the game though.

Josiah

Liam is the most enthusiastic of football of all the boys.

Ace likes to look for Granddaddy on the sidelines.

Playing outside!

They found roly-poly bugs (pill bugs) and were touching them and making them roll up.

Golf anyone??

My friend from high school and her little baby. They, along with her husband, drove over an hour to visit. It was such a good time and her little one is soo cute! Thanks C & C and K for coming!

Here come the pics…Food and Fun!

So, we made pumpkin cupcakes this week. I have an old recipe (that isn’t healthy but is good) for pumpkin spice bars. I’ve used the same recipe and made pumpkin bread. It’s awesome! So moist and delicious. This year, I decided to try pumpkin cupcakes. I found the yummy (I know not everyone likes them) candy pumpkins to decorate with some orange, black, yellow, sprinkles. I also made homemade cream cheese icing. Can you say yum yum???!!

Here’s my little chefs in action.

In years past, we’ve used those 97 cent pumpkin trick or treat buckets from Wal-Mart. This year, I talked to Mark and we realized that five of those things floating around was going to be too much. I had the idea of getting tote bags and using an iron on and then allowing them to color them with markers. My publishing program allows me to remove color on some graphics, so I did that to three different designs. Now, all my markers are washable markers and before doing this, I tested them by writing on the inside bag and then washing it. The markers came out. The only problem is the slickness from the iron on is not really allowing the markers to dry. We’ll see. As you can tell from the pictures, we did this last week on pj day.

What’s UP!!

Let’s see despite Josiah’s fever, we loaded everyone up and went to visit my parents and watch a great football game this weekend. We also made a pit stop to test drive some vans and I’ll write more about that later.

My dad’s team won their sixth straight win. They were up against a team and a bunch of refs who didn’t know how to follow the game. Dad said it just moved too fast for them. I think they just didn’t really care. They called a face mask on an obvious tackle. A personal foul on dad’s team when one of his lineman pushed the opposing player off our receiver who he was trying to beat into the ground. Anyway, they won 44-9. That is the second most amount of points any team has scored on them this season. The most being 10. They are doing awesome! This week should prove challenging, however, so we’ll see!!

Josiah ran a fever all weekend. It would go up to 100 then come back down. Sometimes we helped it down but mostly it came down on its’ own. He was pitiful when it went up. We believe now that it may be from teething as he’s cutting his last two eye teeth and he would start drooling when it would go up. He’s been fever free for two days now…I haven’t dared stick my finger in to see if those two teeth come in. He’ll chomp down for sure!

Okay, enough about football. On to the rest of the weekend. My mom and I were able to venture out and get Zoe a couple girly books to go with the ones that our sweet friend Holly from church gave us for her (she has all boys, so we got some mystery books). I also was able to visit with a dear friend from high school. They traveled up to visit with us at my parents’ house. It was a great visit and I got to love on her little four month old. Lots of fun!

So, that’s what’s up with us…I will post pictures…I will post pictures…I will post pictures…but when???

PJ Day

A cloudy day and Josiah running a low low grade fever from his MMR shot…yep, it’s a pj day!

Don’t worry all my skeptical friends. We did have school but then we settled in and watched a movie and ate pizza and worked on some trick or treat bags. That’s it! I love pj day.

Have a great day and weekend. Hopefully, I can get pictures up of the kids bags soon.

Zoe…

…finished her book last night when she went to lay down for the night. Help!!! I need good book suggestions. Not the little easy reader books with the numbers on the side. I need some good book suggestions. They need to be chapter books and on a 1st to 3rd grade level. Leave a comment with ideas and we’ll hit the library real soon. Thanks!

Today…

I know I post a lot about our mishaps and misadventures. It’s what’s interesting, I’m sure! Anyway, today, I’d thought I’d be boring and share what a good day we’ve had. Liam has been very obedient and even loving. Ace is working on a new bad habit of talking very ugly to his brother and sister but we’re working on it. He even had a good attitude during chores. Actually, all three of the “chore” kids did laundry without complaining. Ahhh! Peace.

Also, I have a children’s chapter book called, What Would Jesus Do? It’s based on the novel called In His Steps. My mom got it for me several years ago. I’ve read the first three chapters of it out loud. Zoe took it with her to naptime (also known as rest time to her) and has almost finished it. She loves it! I’m not talking a short book either. This is a long one. It’s over 200 pages. The words are about medium type. Pretty impressive! So, grandparents out there…gift idea. Real chapter books that Zoe would love. The Boxcar Children would be right up her ally. I’m just waiting for her to grab our Little House books and finish those up on her own.
